Netflix Unveils 2026 South African Slate, Confirms ‘Love Is Blind: South Africa’

Netflix has unveiled its slate of films and TV shows set for release in 2026, with four South African titles, at least what has been confirmed so far, included in what audiences can expect from the streamer this year. The South African slate comprises the reality franchise Love Is Blind: South Africa; two films, Yoh! Bestie and 180; as well as the third season of the erotic thriller Fatal Seduction.

Noticeably absent from the lineup is a fourth season of Young, Famous & African, which viewers have come to expect in the first half of the year. However, Netflix’s scaled-back investment, or rather, its more cautious approach in Africa, has led to shorter lead times to release and less splashy marketing campaigns, even for titles that would previously have been announced much earlier in the year. So, it’s highly likely that we have not seen the last of South African films and TV shows coming to Netflix in 2026.

Stay ahead of Kenya & East Africa’s film and TV.

Following the 2023 release Yoh! Christmas, which is adapted from the Norwegian series Home for Christmas, Yoh! Created by Tiffany Barbuzano and Johnny Barbuzano, the film premieres on 6 February.

Few South African shows have captivated the world like Fatal Seduction, the steamy thriller that plunges viewers into the sexy, scandalous and suspense-filled world of Nandi Mahlati. Released in 2023, the first season garnered 5.1 million viewers and claimed the number 2 spot on Netflix’s Top 10 Global in its first week of release. The second season, which premiered in August 2025, generated much talk from viewers across the globe even though official viewership data is yet to be released. The upcoming third season introduces new faces including Hope Mbhele (Shaka iLembe), Lorcia Cooper (Red Ink), Thando Thabethe (How to Ruin Christmas) and Kevin Smith (Unseen), who join returning cast members Kgomotso Christopher (Legacy), Prince Grootboom (Inimba) and Thapelo Mokoena (Bad Influencer).

Described as a “gritty thriller,” 180 follows a reformed gangster whose quiet life is shattered by a single, life-altering incident, setting him up on a path of revenge. The film stars Desmond Dube (Love and Wine), Fana Mokoena (Masinga – The Calling), Prince Grootboom (Fatal Seduction), Warren Masemola (Fatal Seduction) and Bongile Mantsai (Red Ink).

Love Is Blind: South Africa

With devoted fans around the world, Love Is Blind is one of Netflix’s most popular reality series. The original U.S. version has spawned multiple international editions, including Brazil, Japan, Sweden, the U.K., Germany and France. In 2026, Love Is Blind: South Africa joins the franchise as its first African iteration and the thirteenth globally. First released in 2020, the series follows singles who try to find a match and fall in love without ever seeing each other face-to-face, testing whether emotional connection can overcome physical attraction.
