Nothing like an Edgar Allan Poe adaptation in October, and Netflix is here to serve all the chills and thrills with Mike Flanagan’s take on The Fall of House of Usher on 12 October, an American gothic drama done in a way that only Flanagan does best.

On 4 October, one of the biggest pop culture icons of our generation and former footballer David Beckham invites us into his world with never-seen-before footage as we follow his meteoric rise from humble beginnings to global football stardom in the documentary Beckham.

The gentleman thief and master of disguise Assane Diop (played by the ever-charismatic Omar Sy) is back on 5 October with Lupin S3 as he pulls off his most outrageous feat yet.

In Fair Play, premiering on 6 October, Phoebe Dynevor and Alden Ehrenreich face off as a young couple vying for the same promotion at a cutthroat hedge fund, pushing their relationship to the brink.

From director David Yates, known for the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts film series, Emily Blunt and Chris Evans star in Pain Hustlers, launching on 27 October, about the rise and fall of a small pharmaceutical company caught in the middle of the opioid crisis.

On 13 October, one of Nollywood’s finest filmmakers Kunle Afolayan is back with Ìjọ̀gbọ̀n, a coming-of-age tale that follows four teenagers whose lives change when they stumble across a pouch of diamonds.

From South Africa, catch back for the fourth iteration of the Kandasamys film series, Kandasamys: The Baby, on 20 October as the in-laws head to Mauritius for the birth of their grandchild.

Also watch out for Kenyan Kalasha and AMVCA-winning crime drama film Click Click Bang, based on Abel Mutua’s popular YouTube series and directed by Philip Karanja, on 15 October.
