The fan-favourite Kenyan series Single Kiasi returns for a fourth season, premiering on Showmax on 17 September.
Launched in 2022, Single Kiasi is the longest-running Showmax Original in Kenya. It follows three women – Sintamei (Gathoni Mutua), Mariah (Minne Kariuki) and Rebecca (Faithe Kibathi) – as they navigate friendships, romance and careers in Nairobi.

Season 4 picks up from the dramatic cliffhanger, with Sintamei’s world spiralling after a night of questionable choices with Nick (Lenana Kariba). Consumed by guilt, she throws herself into work, determined to raise her law firm’s profile, until a charismatic stranger tempts her onto a dangerous path.
Rebecca and Nick’s budding romance faces mounting family pressures, driven by his manipulative mother and snobbish aunt. Meanwhile, Mariah, having survived heartbreak and humiliation in the previous season, is determined to shed the victim narrative. She embraces her power and gets entangled into a new relationship where she finds control.

“We are pushing the girls to their absolute limits. Every decision has a consequence, and they will be forced to fight tooth and nail for their careers, their relationships, and their sanity,” says Philippe Bresson who directs and produces Single Kiasi alongside Grace Kahaki.
“We also wanted to explore what happens when strong women are pushed into the deep end – do they sink or swim? Viewers will see them fight for survival in Nairobi’s concrete jungle like never before,” says Kahaki.
Bresson and Kahaki produce the show under their outfit, Insignia Productions, also known for Showmax’s The Chocolate Empire and Netflix’s Kash Money.
Returning cast includes Kevin Maina, Wanjira Longauer (Disconnect: The Wedding Planner), Hellen Keli (Selina), Jimmi Gathu (The Chocolate Empire) and Joy Kendi. New joiners include Brian Ogola (Second Family), Xavier Ywaya (Jiji), Maqbul Mohammed (Crime and Justice), Angela Mwandanda (County 49), Silayio Neema (Untying Kantai) and Daina Njuguna (Big Girl Small World).
According to Showmax, Single Kiasi remains one of the most-watched titles on the African streamer for three years in a row. The series was recently nominated for Best TV Drama (East Africa) at the 2025 Zanzibar International Film Festival. At the 2024 Kalasha Awards, the show also scored four nods including Best TV Drama, and was a Best TV Series nominee at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs).
