Sayari, a new romantic comedy set against the breathtaking backdrop of Tigoni’s lush tea fields, will premiere in cinemas on 11 April.
Directed by Omar Hamza under his Giza Visuals banner, Sayari tells the story of a struggling BnB manager in Tigoni, whose quiet life is disrupted when she is recruited by the father of a runaway groom to ensure he makes it to his wedding.

“This film is a must-watch for audiences looking for an authentic Kenyan rom-com,” says Hamza.
Sayari is led by Muhugu Theuri (Kasiri, Crime and Justice) and Lucarelli Onyango (Stero, Single Kiasi) as the loveable love interests, with Gitura Kamau (Shimoni, Black & Blue) and Eddy Kimani (Country Queen, Sanura) supporting as their well-meaning, meddling fathers, bringing depth, charm, and chemistry to this romantic tale.
“Films were never meant to be watched on small screens in our beds or sofas,” says producer and co-writer June Wairegi. “They’re a communal activity and that’s why we’re taking Sayari to the cinemas.”
After winning hearts with the 2024 short Sukari, Sayari marks Giza Visuals’ fourth feature film, following their Kalasha-winning Gacal (2022) and AMVCA-nominated Rishai (2020).
“This new film solidifies our commitment to bringing high-quality, homegrown stories to audiences,” says Hamza.
